Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Annese DMD offers Platelet Rich Fibrin as a treatment for anyone undergoing a surgical procedure. This includes implants, extractions and gum procedures.

What is PRF and Why use it?

PRF is substance isolated from centrifuging a patient’s blood. PRF is autologous, meaning it is the patient’s own cells. PRF contains many growth factors and regeneration cells to speed up and improve wound healing and the bone formation process. PRF improves the healing of dental extractions and implants.

How is PRF completed?

PRF procedure is a quick and simple process. The patient’s blood is drawn and then placed in a centrifuge. This machine will spin the blood at a high speed for a certain amount of time until the PRF is separated from the blood. The PRF is then processed or mixed with bone graft. PRF is placed at the surgical site and will stimulate a natural regeneration process.
